Jen Barkan | Online Sales Coach

With over 19 years in sales and marketing for new home builders, Jen Barkan brings additional frontline experience to Do You Convert as an Online Sales Coach.

In 2016, she was named Online Sales Consultant of the Year by the National Sales and Marketing Council of the National Home Builders Association and was also a Silver Award winner in 2015. Later in 2016, Jen was the recipient of Professional Builder Magazine’s 40 under 40 award.

Jessie Suggs | Online Sales Coach

Jessie is an Online Sales Coach with Do You Convert and has over 8 years of home builder sales and marketing experience.

In 2020, Jessie led an online sales team that managed more than 10,000 leads and generated more than $146 million in sales revenue. A three-time honoree of Mungo Homes’ CEO Circle of Excellence, Jessie is a National Home Builders Association Silver Award Winner for 2019 and 2020, was awarded the 2018 Internet Lead Specialist of the Year by the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina, and was recognized as a Home Building Industry Leader by Professional Builder in the annual 40 under 40 Class of 2021.

Karla Tuten

Head of Creative Services

Karla has 13+ years of experience in graphic design, and has specialized in real estate and homebuilder marketing since 2014. Her background in both design and new-home marketing gives her a unique perspective on how brand, marketing, and storytelling work together for builders.

A 2025 NAHB Award winner, Karla’s work spans brand identity, signage, print, advertising, and web design. She’s especially passionate about rebranding, listening to builders’ stories and translating them into meaningful, effective design. She is the creator of the Builder Brand Survey, the first-of-its-kind assessment designed to measure brand consistency for home builders.

A highly sought-after industry speaker, Karla has presented at the International Builders’ Show and the Online Sales & Marketing Summit, sharing insights on brand strategy and marketing for home builders. She is also a regular judge for the MAME Awards, helping recognize excellence in home building and marketing.

Karla was named to ProBuilder’s 40 Under 40 in 2021, earned a Brand Management certificate from Cornell in 2023, and serves as an AIGA Mentor.

I had the honor of joining my creative peers in the homebuilding industry in Columbus, OH for the first Rise & Design Creative Retreat, and it did not disappoint.

From nature walks and sketching turkeys and turtles, to learning how to not lose your soul as a creative and making new, professional friends from across the country, this experience was exactly what I was looking for. In a blue collar world, having a space for creativity, with other creatives, was a missing link in our industry.

This retreat felt thoughtful from the start. The group was kept purposely small, which made moments and activities easy to connect to and learn from.
